In the next episode of Spartan History series, we talk about the early beginnings of the famed city-state during the Greek Dark Ages. As the eponymous king Agis I assumes the throne and unifies Lacedaemonian villages under a single polity, policies favoring Dorians over the autochthonous inhabitants are introduced, causing animosity between Sparta and neighboring Achaean towns.
